Terrible tales of online dating: Episode 1

“Is this creepy to you, too?”

It must have seemed like love at first click.

A couple of guys (who were up to no good?) and two women met on the internet, agreed to meet up for a group date, then got into a car to take a midnight drive early Monday morning.

That’s when stuff got weird.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the foursome stopped near a strip mall on the 1500 block of W. El Camino Avenue in South Natomas so one of the men could make a call on his cellphone. That guy ran off instead, leaving the two women with a man who brandished a knife and robbed them of their money and cellphones, according to police logs.

eHarmony commercials never tell you about those dates, do they?
